OF THIS TOTAL 662 MILES OF 61 PERCENT IS IN PRIVATE HANDS COMPARED TO 410 MILES WHICH ARE PUBLICLY OWNED SOME 84 PERCENT OF THE STATE'S POPULATION LIVES WITHIN 30 MILES OF THE COAST AND IT HAS RESULTED IN INCREASING LAND USE PRESSURES

Charles O'Rear (born 26 November 1941, Miss) is an American photographer. His image Bliss was used as the default desktop wallpaper of Microsoft's Windows XP operating system. O'Rear started his career with the daily newspapers Emporia Gazette, The Kansas City Star, and Los Angeles Times; worked for National Geographic magazine; and was part of the Environmental Protection Agency's DOCUMERICA project.
